I messed up and I feel really horrible.

The only good thing I can see in all of this is that I don't have to wake up early to get to class. I can, instead, stay home and just get the work done that I need to do. I have some homework and I need to make sure that I get some letters of recommendation coming in soon. I'm just drained. The heat, the stress of work (still hasn't passed), school starting, scrambling to apply for the credential program, and PMSing... It was bound to happen. I don't like to see him hurt. I like even less that I was the one who did it to him.

Moved and enthralled by this verse, I purchased the Acts 2 jacket from SWC in 2007. I didn't fully understand the verse, nor did I fully comprehend how it would impact my life. Evangelism is not my gift and tongues will probably never be, yet this chapter seemed to call to me as I stared at the jacket still on the rack.

They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them... Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, 'What does this mean?' Some, however, made fun of them and said, 'They have had too much wine.' Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: 'Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."' -- Acts 2:3-4,12-17

I didn't adopt the ability to speak in tongues as I yanked the sleeves over my arms. Nor did I as I began wearing it everywhere I went... However, I did gain the confidence to speak out boldly and proudly about the faith I already had. It's great to wear a piece of Christian clothing... It's even greater to fully understand the basis for the verses and ideas represented in the clothing! Don't allow the clothes to speak for themselves... Allow the fire of the Holy Spirit to fall upon you and spur you into conversations with believers and non-believers alike! Research the verses and formulate your own opinions. Be a vessel for God's word instead of a mute billboard.

I found some old love letters and ticket stubs as I scrounged through my stuff. I've never thrown them away and never thought too much of doing so. As soon as I saw them yesterday, I couldn't fight the urge to trash them. And that's what I did.

Why hang on to old memories?
I'm not the me I used to be.
God calls us to move forward... not back.
That is what I intend to do.

I want new memories and new trinkets...

As soon as I was through with my art class, I started packing up my apartment. Now that I've started, I've come to realize how therapeutic going through old things. I have started to throw away old trinkets. I don't need them. If there are important things to remember, I have pictures that I will always have on my computer.

I might also scan my old cards and keep the copies on my computer.

I need to condense my life. I don't have enough boxes.

Today was really a chain of one awful circumstance after another... and it was completely my fault. Oh well. The worst of it is over and I'm ready to get on with my day. I have one more layer to do on my paper mache whale and then I'm going to take the night off... from EVERYTHING!

I will meet up with Greg and go with him to Swing Huddle, but once there, I will not be dancing. I will rest. I'm excited really. I know it's pretty lame to travel to a venue to avoid the dancing altogether, but I just don't have it in me and Greg is going already.

Maybe I won't get to finish up the whale's belly after all.
I think Greg got out early.
