Ever lose yourself to the music, give in, and think you can't recover. That's how I felt as the blues music started just as we were getting ready to leave. Greg gave in immediately and danced another song, even though he had already changed out of his dance shoes. It was a fantastic song and great dance, but it killed me to leave as yet another great blues number began to play. I can't WAIT for the blues dancing tomorrow night!!

So I went with Greg to his family's Christmas in the OC and it was great fun! We played with the kids, tried to nap, ate snacks, opened presents, and ate an incredible meal. They were very kind to me and welcomed me into the family. I loved every second.

Greg and I finally exchanged gifts. I got him a meal for two at the New Year's Eve event we're going to and a phenomenal fuzzy hat that couldn't be more perfect. He is going to take me shopping for clothes that I pick out and he gave me a Christmas tree ornament of Belle and the Beast dancing to represent our first year together and how we met dancing. I loved it! I love him. :)

Since I'm celebrating Christmas again tomorrow with Greg's family, I spent the day preparing, with the exception of this morning. I had some post-Christmas errands to run. I stopped by the VW shop to get my tires filled and order a vase and mats for the car. I then got In'N'out and used my GPS to find a route back home. It was perfect. As I waited for Greg to get out of work, I reorganized and cleaned a bit. I'm excited for tomorrow and to see Greg open the gift I got for him!!

Today was really fantastic! Greg and I got to my parents' house late, but ate immediately and spent the day singing, chatting, gaming, and goofing off. We started opening gifts and I was BEYOND blessed by the bounty of gifts received! Dana made a bracelet and drawing for me, Carole gave me a Coach purse, and my parents gave me the GPS that I've needed for much too long. I was quite pleased with the presents and festivities... then my parents handed me another gift bag for my graduation. I knew it would be a key, so when I took it out, I thought nothing of the VW on the key. I knew the particular car I was intended to receive, so when I walked outside and saw this, I lost it! It's my dream car and I'm ecstatic to be driving it!! It has already been named the Reptilian. Perfect. I am so blessed and so thankful! Merry Christmas. I hope you were all able to spend it with family and friends!

Today was tremendous. I avoided driving altogether, bought something spectacular, and maintained a good mood for most of the day! Even more exciting than anything I did is Dana's birthday... she's 20 years old and the whole family took turns saying their congratulations! I love you, Doodle. You would just love it here!! Today we went antique shopping again and we will be shopping high-end outlets tomorrow. Crate & Barrel, here I come!

Yesterday went well. We flew in late but otherwise without problems. It was beyond difficult to find the hotel but we arrived and it was good. This morning I awoke at 9am (7am California time), so I was pretty tired today. However after lunch, Matt's graduation, and the following swa-ray, I still managed to go out to celebrate with my cousin! We went to a place called Nephews (I think) and had a great time!! I miss Greg!

It's been six months.

And I couldn't be any happier if I tried. Greg has shown me so much about myself, about life, and love. I feel incredibly blessed and eager for the future. We have some huge things to overcome in this next year, with Accutane and the credential program, but he has set a new kind of fire under me. It's not about what I can or cannot do. It's about God and His power and purpose for my life. I pray that God will pull us both closer to Him and each other over the next months and years. I love you, Greg. Happy Six-month-iversary!

Talked to my dad about credentials and I'm pretty excited about it. Of course, I'm still hecka nervous but what else can be expected?! I can't wait to be done with my undergrad, have a new car, and start the final process to my future job. My calendar is my new bestest friend!

I have a few things still to do throughout the next week:
-- science: group task (due tomorrow)

-- math: read & review article (due tuesday)
-- history: final project (due next wednesday)

After these things are turned in and the one quiz & two exams are done, I will be completely through with my undergrad semester. Then I have two weeks to rest and read ahead on some materials to get ready for the credential program that starts on January 5th. The great news about the program is that I have barely any Saturday commitments to worry about and I get to go to Suzy's wedding in May. I was worried that it wouldn't be possible. ALSO, I get a one week break in April, I believe. If I really play my cards right, I can test out of one of the required classes, so that would be extremely nice as well. I'm still nervous, but super excited for next semester!!

As for now, I'm going to enjoy the cold season.

I received several texts today from various people... None stood out to me as I tore through my history text and books on the Columbian Exchange for my presentation tonight, but two small texts from Greg. I was just finished and hurrying to print my paper and run out the door when I received them. The first was this:

I'm freaking out.

Immediately, I reacted in a very selfish way and began with my mental gripes about how I had it so much worse than he could right now, after spending a full day rushing through text to get a half-assed and only slightly-intelligent response to the prompt that simply directed me to study the Columbian Exchange. That was all I had!! Everyone else had a in-depth question that forced them to think and dive into the material to find an answer and I had nothing. I had to make some in-depth response out of the most obvious prompt I could possibly imagine. However, I held myself back and just asked him, "why?" Just as I hopped in my car to head to class, he responded with this text:

Cuz my heart doesn't ache. I have nothing to be sad about. I'm too happy. I don't have anything to brood over and figure out solutions to.

I prayed as I drove to class, thanking God for His blessings.

In a sign of consumer desperation amid a bleak economy, the annual rite of retailing known as Black Friday turned chaotic and deadly, as shoppers scrambled for holiday bargains.
A Wal-Mart worker on Long Island, N.Y., died after being trampled by customers who broke through the doors early Friday, and other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue the man. At least four other people, including a woman who was eight months pregnant, were taken to hospitals.
Fights and injuries occurred elsewhere at other stores operated by Wal-Mart, the nation's leading discount chain, which is one of the few retailers thriving in the current economy.
Meanwhile, two men at a crowded Toys "R" Us in Palm Desert, Calif., pulled guns and shot each other to death after women with them brawled, witnesses said. The company released a statement late Friday saying the deaths were related to a personal dispute and not Black Friday shopping.
Many other retailers appeared to have fewer customers than usual the day after Thanksgiving, typically one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Merchants call it Black Friday because in the past, it was when many retailers went into the black, or turned profitable, for the year.
While tussles and even broken bones are common when the doors open on Black Friday, this is apparently the first time someone was killed in the stampede. For some consumer psychologists, the mad scramble was a sign of the times.

This all makes me very sad... Is it THAT important to buy gifts?! Greg and I have decided to simply make our Christmas gifts this year. Seeing Lauren and getting spend so much time with her today has really been wonderful! We first went out with the boys to dinner and now we are watching Enchanted (after the hours of girl talk!). As it gets closer and closer to the Christmas season, I still remain adamant against my Christmas decorating before Thanksgiving. Even though I love seeing the tree, all the reds and greens, and other trinkets I have collected over the years, it just wouldn't seem right to start the fever before I have spent the day focused on thanking those that have done so much for me. However, I am trying to get ahead with Christmas gifts as best I can!

I might be busting out my Christmas cards and start filling those out so I can send it when it becomes time. I have some gifts for family, plans for other homemade gifts, but I'm stuck with one major problem. Greg. What the heck are you supposed to get a boy (who's not your dad) for Christmas. I've never had to do this before. I have thought about several different things, but everything seems either too much or not enough or just weird (which he might actually appreciate). I guess I better get thinking... He made a poop joke today... I need to top it. :)
