I thought this was extremely appropriate with finals just around the corner. I am already done with one of my classes and I have a few more assignments and exams for the others.

I wore my heart on my sleeve
Can't remember where it all led me.
But I remember the breakups,
Make-ups,
The everywhere and in between.
I struggled to fall asleep some nights,
Trying to relive those moments.
But now I have found friends,
Hope,
And the Love I'll always need.
Guide my heart through these next few years,
As I see my friends become spouses.
Lead me to find my purpose,
Peace,
And patience, as I wait for the man of my dreams.
"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have a TON of things coming up that I'm extremely excited about! I will be working with the Flood Kids this Sunday morning and I may take over as the teacher after the summer (or so it looks right now). So, I get to work with the first and second graders as the teacher's assistant... I'm assuming, since I haven't heard exact details. This is something that I have been looking forward to doing for a while now and I can't wait to get in there!

One of these things is something that I have already begun. I was cast in the CCT musical, the Sound of Music, as a Novice Nun. We started the rehearsals two weeks ago and we already have a ton of music memorized. The amusing thing to me is that I had never seen the movie until last Sunday. I didn't realize how small my part as a nun was until I saw it but it's cool because I get to start out with less pressure. Now, I just have to make sure that I have everything that we've learned so far memorized! LoL.

I just got the call this morning that I got the job at YMCA Mission Valley. I will be working at the Toby Wells location with the Challenger program (6-7 year olds). I already know that I will be missing their very last week of camp, due to school, but I'm trying to find out if I will be able to join them after my classes on their last day possibly. In preparation for this, I have to take CPR training and get First Aid certified, as well as a Lifeguard certification. I also have three full days Camp Staff training, one of which I can't make all of because it's on Sunday. I won't be getting paid very much hourly but I will be working so much that I will make more with this job than I have any other summer! That's definitely a nice thought. So, I will use this as something to soothe me down from all my uncertainties about being outside, in the water, and playing sports. Have mercy!

The week after the YMCA camp ends (even though I won't be able to be there that last week, due to school), I start rehearsals for My Fair Lady! I will be in the Female Chorus and a Featured Dancer!! I'm actually really excited about doing this show, because I will get the chance to be in the show more and in a show that I like a LOT more! Opening night is October twentieth, so I will be in the middle of school the entire time, but I am going to work hard to ensure good grades for all of my classes.

A week after rehearsals for My fair Lady begin, I will start my Friday classes at SoCo CYT as the Our Gang teacher again. So, I will get to work with the 6 and 7 years olds again, and I can't wait to be able to work on dances and skits with them again. These two hour sessions will only be for ten weeks and I will have a good month to finish up school without any distractions. This is looking like an amazing year!

I've been watching Star Trek all day. I love Captain Picard and Lt. La Forge. They're the best! Hee. Alright, that's plenty nerd-talk for now: I realized that I haven't been updating this journal at all over the past month. So much has happened, which is partially the reason there hasn't been time to update. I have been pledging the Christian sorority, Alpha Delta Chi, for a month and a half now.
I love the girls that are a part of the organization and it has changed my life SO much already. I am beyond stoked to see all the great things that come out of this. As of recently, I am the only pledge and I will have to do things without the help of anyone but my big sis, Italy, and my grand big, Olympia Marble. I'm sure I'll be able to get some help from others as I go along, but I don't want to be too dependant on it, so I won't be dissappointed. As for now, I am just getting the memorization done that I still need to do and I am relaxing as much as possible before I go back to the stress of school.
Over the last weekend, I went with my mom to Hollywood, Santa Monica, and La Habra, for the Hart Competition. Music Machine, Sound Unlimited, and Main Attraction were simply amazing. I loved it. It was really nice to just spend some quality time with my mom and now, I'm spending this week hanging out with my dad at home. I hardly get to spend time with my parents anymore, so it's really comforting to get to be with them. Alright, mushy stuff is over and done with. I can't wait for my sister to meet the ADX girls. We might be able to go over to the sorority house tomorrow. Hopefully, I will get myself into gear and make my way over there tonight, even though Dana can't go tonight. I really want to start hanging out with the girls more.
God bless.

-cles of Narnia!!
tis the season: Elle's Advice to Single Girls
1. Give thanks that you are single.
"Falling in love is sublime, and making a commitment can be profoundly satisfying. But even the best of relationships requires sacrifice - and being in a rotten one can suck all the sweetness out of life." What this boils down to is you're not in a bad relationship, which gives you a better chance for a "divine match."
2. If you build, he will come.
"Stop trying to make men like you. You can't do it." Make goals for yourself and your own life and work steadily towards all of them. "Spend your time making you like you." This may or may not make you "more attractive" to guys, but it will make you feel better about yourself and who you are without a guy.
3. Make peace with you cat-lady scenario.
"Instead of the tear-jerking house-dress-and-cats tragedy," think of the things you could do if you don't get married. You could "move to Paris," write a best-selling novel, or tour the world with a platinum album!! These are all things that are much more likely to happen only if you didn't get married.
4. Be scientific.
"Love is magical, it's a mystery, it's fate. Whatever [...] It's statistics. And the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor." Statistics show that a mere 12% of all women will never marry. Of these women, many are gay couples or couples simply cohabiting. "If a walk down the aisle is what you want, your number is coming up."
5. Embrace uncertainty.
"You don't have any idea whom you might love or who might love you. Stop being such a control freak." You cannot predict the future or control it by making lists of criteria that your "future husband" must live up to. So let loose, have fun, and let life happen to you!
6. The importance of being earnest.
"You will never die as a result of letting a man know how you feel about him." He may not say it back, or turned off, or plain mean... All of which are good things to know!! "Say what you want. There's no shame in wanting to love someone." On the other hand, if you find yourself pushing guys away, it's alright if you're not ready for "coupledom."
7. Get a boy friend.
"Even when a man isn't really attracted to a woman, he still wants to have sex with her." This is why it's a good idea to have a "single, straight, male friend [...] They can make you feel desirable without the actual mess and stress of casual sex." When they tell you that you're beautiful and you'll meet someone soon, "you can actually believe them because, well, they know what boys want."
I'm currently at the Apple Store, using their internet connection, while my dad wanders around checks out all of the cool toys. LoL. I feel like a bit of a nerd for doing this, but I just don't feel like walking around at random. Some of the things that I still need to get from Apple are: scanner, iSight, and a speaker set for my iPod mini to sit in. The only thing that I really need is the scanner though. I have used the scanners of two or three different people in the dorm, just in the past semester! Kinda sad if you ask me.
Another thing that I've been talking to my dad about today is the cyber green convertible Voltzwagon bug. That car is just beautiful and I mentioned it to my dad about a month ago (maybe less). He informed me that the cyber green color may not be used anymore in VW's because this year's new cars didn't include the color. Lame, I know, but I'll live. The weird thing to me was that he brought it up all on his own. Maybe he's actually thinking about what kinds of cars I like and might get. Woo hoo! However, he's totally ragging on me about the convertible thing... I know I probably won't use it too much, since I hate the sun and all, but the two-tone look with the cyber green and black looks awesome! Hee.
Okay, I feel like an über dork now, so I'm going to end this and maybe wander around a bit. It'll be good for me and since my dad has already lined up two buys so far, I had better keep a watch on him. He might just buy the whole store if he's left here long enough. Signing out.

I loved it on Broadway. It was one of the best shows on Broadway... AND I got to see it with the original two, Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick!! It was exciting and hilarious and couldn't get enough. Now, the movie is coming out and I am nearly holding my breath waiting to see it.
With Rent coming to theatres less than a month ago, I feel spoiled with this sudden love for musical theatre in the movies! I am so glad that I have had the chance to see so many of these Broadway stories come to life on the screen. Chicago and the Phantom were, of course, different from the stage performances, but exciting none-the-less. I intend on purchasing each of these for my own collection of Broadway shows. Chicago, down. Many more to go!
I am thinking about buying myself an AIDS Bracelet for Christmas to support the cause. I've been wanting to get one for a while now. Jeanele has one and it would be within my budget to get the $25 bracelet. As long as the quality of that bracelet is good, then that is what I'm going to get. No matter how small an effort, it would still make a difference!

I saw The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe today and it was great! My dad and I went to see it on our day together. The kids in the movie were great and the CGI was perfect. Afterwards, we ate at California Pizza Kitchen, and I had my favorite, Spinach and Artichoke Dip with a BBQ Chicken Pizza and a Diet Coke. Mmm... We stopped by the Apple store and headed home. Since then, I did nothing but play online and watch tv, so I found a cute Disney site. At this Disney Fairies webpage, I figured out that I am most like Tinker Bell. She was the coolest thing to see at Disneyland... Tink flying past the castle in front of the fireworks.

Try 'em. They're good! Hee.
I saw the Junior Theatre production of A Charlie Brown Christmas today and it was great! I definitely recommend the show to anyone who loves the old comics or just wants to bring their kids to a fun show. Alright, I have plenty of studying left to do and a reflection paper to write, so have a nice night.

I don't want another
You see I am always waitin'
I'm hopelessly taken by you
Everybody cries
Everybody bleeds
No one ever
Said that life's
An easy thing
That's the beauty of it
When you lose your way
Close your eyes
'N' go to sleep
Wake up to
Another day
But I'm not going to wait when the moments vanish so fast
'Cuz every kiss is a kiss you can never take back
